Westworld 007 Easter Egg

The season finale of critically acclaimed HBO drama series “Westworld” features a neat little easter egg for James Bond aficionados: in the opening scene of “The Bicameral Mind”, actor Jeffrey Wright can be seen wearing a blue OMEGA Seamaster in its limited James Bond edition with the gunbarrel motif on the dial. It’s not easy to see but the trained eye will surely be able to recognize the features.

Actor Jeffrey Wright himself ist best known to Bond fans through his appearance as iconic CIA agent Felix Leiter in the two first Daniel Craig Bond films “Casino Royale” (2006) and “Quantum of Solace” (2008). In “Westworld” he plays the character of Bernard Lowe, Head of the Westworld Programming Division and creator of artificial people. The TV series is based on both the film and book of the same name and features an all-star cast led by by Thandie Newton, Anthony Hopkins and Ed Harris.

The question remains, whether the producers of the show decided to have the costume department select the watch for Wrights character in “Westworld” or if the actor might have slipped it in himself. Anyway, it’s a nice little reminder that James Bond really is everywhere!
