SPECTRE Box Office Update #3

The new Bond thriller remains at number 1 this week with solid with new figures from the US pushing it to $130 million. After its recent release in China, “Spectre” made an estimated $48 million which came as a surprise. If the numbers are correct, the newest 007 film will have the largest opening weekend and largest opening three days of all time for any 2D US film in China. It could soon overtake the previous Bond outing “Skyfall” which managed to haul in $59 million during its entire China run.

Internationally, the film made a total of $413 million which raises the worldwide gross to $543,800,181 – an enormous increase that pulls the film straight into the top 10 cinema releases of this year and elevates it to #126 of the world’s most successful films of all time. With the imminent release of the film in India and Japan (limited release) on November 20, “Spectre” should easily reach its break-even-point of $650 million and is expected to gross far higher. This cements the international success of the film despite having earned some harsh reviews, especially by US media.
