The severe storms which are currently raging in parts of Europe also had an effect on Soelden and just blew away the metal fences surrounding the ‘SPECTRE’ unit base as you can see on the picture below.
Still, on the final day of the scheduled shoot in the winter hotspot, there are no news from the summit and the top secret filming. A photo from inside the IceQ restaurant, most likely taken on the first day before everything was closed for visitors, gives us a glimpse on some of the vehicles we can expect in the scene. The snapshot was taken and uploaded to Facebook by Glanzer Sports & Lifestyle, a ski outfitter with several branches in Soelden.
Weather conditions were far away from good today – around 9.00am, Soelden experienced heavy snowfall making the webcams turn white for some time. This image from the middle station of the Gaislachkogl cable car was the last image with good visibility.
At 11.22am, the webcam was turned off – probably due to filming as skiers at the station were approached by the Bond crew and hired to act as extras for background action. Hot meals included!
In another Twitter photo probably taken earlier today at Gaislachkogl middle station, an advert for OMEGA watches is visible at the top middle – an advert for the OMEGA Speedmaster “Dark Side of the Moon” to be precise. If that is in any way connected to ‘SPECTRE’ is subject to speculation.
